My mum is the most selfless, caring person I know and I can't think of anyone more deserving of thanks!

For several years now, she has been my dad's unpaid carer following major back surgery that left him reliant on a wheelchair. From the moment his life changed, she has been his constant source of strength, support and encouragement. She helps him with the countless day-to-day tasks that many people take for granted but, more importantly, she does it all with love, patience and kindness.

She never complains or asks for recognition. She simply gets on with it because she loves him. She is his advocate, his best friend, his biggest supporter and, quite honestly, his rock. She makes sure he can continue to enjoy life, maintaining his dignity and independence wherever possible, even when it means putting her own needs last.

Watching the way she cares for him has shown me what true commitment and unconditional love look like. Caring can be physically and emotionally demanding, yet she faces every challenge with resilience and compassion. She is always thinking of others before herself and I am so grateful for everything she does.

I hope this pledge reminds her that her dedication does not go unnoticed. She makes an enormous difference to my dad's life every single day and to all of us who love them both. Thank you, Mum, for your endless love, strength and sacrifice. We couldn't be prouder of you and we appreciate you more than words can ever express.
