The Regina Pledge Wall

Here are some of the wonderful unpaid carers’ pledges we’ve received.

Do you know an unpaid carer? Share who cares for a chance to appear on our pledge wall and win a prize.

I’d like to give a pledge of thanks to Keith the kindest, most caring man you could ever meet.

His elderly neighbour Terrance, is housebound, has lost his wife this year and has debilitating mobility and health issues that often see him admitted to hospital – which Terry hates.

However, when he’s allowed home, alongside any healthcare professionals sent by the NHS, it’s Keith who looks after him and makes sure he’s OK.

He does Terry’s errands, takes him to appointments, gets his shopping and makes sure he’s comfortable and has everything he needs.

Without the help, care and company of Keith, giving up his time freely and happily despite having no relationship with Terry other than a warmhearted neighbour, Terry would either be kept in hospital or required to live in nursing home.

This generosity of spirit and compassion deserves recognition in our society, I don’t think many people care for the neighbours like this anymore, which is very sad.
